About
This site is mostly for me to keep track of vocabulary and other things related to my studies for quick review via RSS, but if you happen to stumble upon this, I figured I might as well explain it.
I am currently around a JLPT2 level in Japanese and am starting to study Chinese. For my Japanese study I will be listing, among other things, vocabulary, grammar, and kanji from 3 books by the same maker. Those books each go for 8 weeks, and are designed to be done daily. Each day/lesson is kind of designed around a theme so it makes it easier to learn related vocabulary and/or kanji.
My posts here will mostly consist of a header like “1日目” followed by a summary of what the post consists of. This is directly because of the structure the books I use are written in. Any new/forgotten vocab will be put into a table on nearly every post for quick access.
The english meanings as well as transcriptions in romaji or kana are not listed so you do need to click to look up the entry in the best dictionary site www.alc.co.jp. That will give you the english definition but doesnt provide transcription unless you are going english->japanese so either another step is necessary or (if you are studying Japanese you should already have this) you could use the Firefox plugin Rikaichan which automatically provides this as long as a quick definition.
For Mandarin…well I am a complete beginner and am currently going (slowly) through the Pimsleur Mandarin I series and the book The New Practical Chinese Reader. My posts for Chinese will be basically all the vocab (with hanzi) that I have learned and any other useful resources I come along.
Again, this is mostly for me to prod myself into a daily routine as well as a way to reinforce learned material. Comments are welcome and I would love to be in contact with people making the transition as well (or the opposite transition). Thanks for looking.

Just downloaded your extension. Are you the same Justin who used to work at JTOC with me, but had to leave to take care of his sick Mom?
