Found some great resources today.

If you’re like me and have been looking for an all encompassing pinyin tone chart to drill yourself crazy to, well this one is pretty good. link
Also, Yale.edu had some good tone combination listening resources posted from last semester that I think would also be useful. link

This guy put up a good summary of how Japanese uses colors in other words, whereby you can start to get a feel for the symbolism they imply. link
